Program Offerings

Music Shopping Service:
This is a courtesy service. Sheet music, books, and other materials will be purchased by the
teacher on the students’ behalf.

Studio Recital & Awards Ceremony:
Typically held in June.

Royal Conservatory Music Development Program:
A structured conservatory program that culminates in assessments administered by the Royal Conservatory of Canada. Their motto is “inspire the desire to aspire.” To learn more about this program offering, check out  Exam and material fees vary.

Con Brio Exams:
Student performances are recorded in-class and uploaded online for review by qualified third-party music professionals.  Exam and material fees vary. Check out for more info.

NFMC Spring Festival:
Perform in a juried recital or test your theory knowledge.  Participants receive certificates and multi-year veterans accumulate points to earn the coveted trophy cup.  Spring Festival usually takes place in March.  Festival fee applies.

Composers Forum:
Students of all ages and levels are encouraged to submit up to five minutes of original music for feedback from a working composer.  Participants receive a certificate.  $20 entry fee applies.

Music Study Certificate:
All enrolled private students are eligible for this annual recognition.

Studio Excellence Trophy:
To win a studio excellence award, students must: have excellent attendance, be enrolled as students for the 2019-2020 academic year, regularly complete all assignments, regularly fill out their studio practice log, come to lessons prepared with all materials, and satisfy studio requirements for their given track of study.  The excellence award program runs June 2019 through May 2020.

Senior Award:
For all graduating high school seniors.

The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program Medal:
For the participants of the Music Development Program.

Spring Festival Award:
Certificate. Gold cup for junior repeat participants. Silver cup for adult
repeat participants. See teacher for details.

MVP- Most Valuable Performer Trophy:
One student is selected for this honor every year.  MVPs are strongly committed
to their studies and always ready to take on new musical challenges. Recipients are typically involved in a larger music community outside the studio.
